the bathroom as the new bird cage of oppression. lipstick, nail polish, straighteners, high heels, tampons, bras, lace panties. we spend hours in front of the mirror. plucking, drying, curling, dabbing, putting on make up, shaving our legs. all of this, for what? the bathroom is the new ‘prison’ for women. we have our rights, we no longer are expected to ‘be in the kitchen.’ and yes, i like putting on make up, and wearing dresses, but who doesn’t sometimes hate that we have to put on a certain stereotype for society. who doesn’t wish they could walk around without a bra? i don’t really have an opinion on feminism, but here is my stab at it. being a girl sucks. no man’s bathroom would have ALL of these items and no man has to spend as much time getting ready as we do.
