adventures in studio lighting. i’ve only shot in the studio twice. kind of ashamed to admit that, but there you have it. lighting isn’t my strong point unless it’s natural. unfortunately, the only access i have to lights right now are the ones located in the studio on my college campus. another unfortunate thing about the studio is the shitty backdrops, and lights that don’t always want to corporate. anyway, here is one of the shots from my shoot today. i like it a lot. editing is a bit of a challenge. i wanted soft, even light, but one of the lights didn’t work and even the hot light wasn’t strong enough to have one side of her face be less lit. i’m excited with these though and had a blast!

I feel like I’ve really been exploring editing and what I can do in photoshop. Studio lighting has really proven to be the best for this kind of exploration.  I value the feedback I get on FaceBook, I just hope it doesn’t come across like I don’t know what I’m doing when I seem to not have any consistency in some of the things I post. I’m getting ready to get together a press packet to send out to photo editors and studio photographers in hopes of landing an assistantship or something. I think the more I work at things the better I get, even without all the vis com training and stylist and models.

If you want, let me know what you think about anything I’ve posted. I’m always eager to know what people think, even if they dislike something.
